Mountains or sea

Mountains or sea

Post by si.. » Thu, 25 Mar 1999 04:00:00

Thanks for all the help with my earlier post.

Onto the modification:

I am now debating going to the south coast, somewhere like brighton.

It is 813 feet asl. near the coast.

Would you expect better wind here or 1700 foot up a mountain?

Thanks once more.

Simon

Mountains or sea

I have flown in many different areas of canada, and still the best place to
fly is at sea level.  why? Steady, 'thicker' winds.. The air is the thickest
at sea level, and with the humidity will fly a kite in much weaker winds.  I
have flown in Calgary AB, at 3740 feet.. same temperature.. big difference,
you need a stronger wind to do the same flying.

This is what I think.. it makes sense to me.. but if anyone want's to argue
this.. bring it on!

Alex.
