Best Deal on Rev 1.5 SLE?/Homemade handles?

Hello everyone,

I've decided on a Rev 1.5 SLE. Now I would obviously like to pay as little
as possible. This is the info I have so far, if anyone knows of a better
price please let me know! Looks like for now it's Gone With The Wind.

I was also wondering if it's possible/practicle to make your own handles.
How long should they be for a 1.5 SLE and how thick in diameter?

Goodwinds,
Colin

I bought my Rev from GWTW under the same special. I bought the handles but left
them at the beach by accident just a couple of weeks later. I went to a Home
Center and bought some aluminum tube and made my own handles. They are a little
small in diameter but I'm looking for some foam cushion material to duplicate
the Rev handles. I have a friend who heats and bends PVC tube to make the
handles. Both work well. Either way, it's much cheaper!

Try a bicycle shop for padded tape for old-fashioned curved handlebars
as on racing and touring bikes. Comes in any colour you like. They even
make it in genuine suede.

Failing that, the slide-on (foam) *** grips for handlebar ends do the
same job as long as your tube's the same diameter as handlebars, but
these come in pre-determined lengths, whereas the tape can cover any
size and diameter you need, including curves and bends.

You can also get some larger diameter vinyl tubing, slide it over the
stainless tubing, to bulk up the diameter to fit the foam bike grips.
