Hi Flyers!
It's still a ways off yet, but definitely not to soon to start making those
travel arrangements. The Convention and Grand Nationals will be taking place
October 2-7, 2000 at Treasure Island, Florida, only 30 minutes from Tampa & 90
minutes from Orlando. It's a fabulous location for this years event and I
really urge all of you to start making plans today to attend.

I've just set up a website to help promote the Convention/Grand Nationals. It
has some pictures & information about hotels/transportation, etc with plans to
add lots more about the actual event as it becomes available. It's located at
http://www.americankite.com   The site and domain hosting is being sponsored by
sportkite.com.

Don't forget to keep checking the AKA website, located at
http://www.aka.kite.org & be sure to sign up as a member as soon as possible.
Sure hope to see you all there!!!

Ellen

Ironic isn't it that the AKA doesn't have something like this already
going... ;)

23rd Annual AKA Kite Convention/Grand Nationals

Post by Robert Harri » Sat, 25 Mar 2000 04:00:00

My family and I spend a wonderful week in Dec'99 south of Tampa flying kites
and enjoying the weather. Although London (UK) is quite nice  in autumn I
was planning to go to Venice beach south of Tampa for a week at the
beginning of Oct 2000 to fly and hang out at Sharky's Bar (great seafood).

However, now that I've seen this posting we are planning to spend the week
at Treasure Island.  Does anyone fancy linking up and getting together as a
group? Nothing too formal. Those that have been on Portugal trips in the
last couple of years will know what I mean. Good flying, good people, good
food and great times.

How about it?

Regards
Robert

Sure is. But remember that AKA is a volunteer organization. The
webmaster does the page for free. Updating scores and the
calendar is a big job that leaves little time for other major
pages.

What Ellen has done is super. But as you say, it would be super
if similar info was on the AKA page too.

Yes, they should be out looking for somone to add information and
enhancements to their web site. But when folks have good ideas,
they can also offer to do it....

Good Winds!
