grass airplane landing fields

Ok, Just another wondering thing.  Are private grass landing strips in the us
listed somewhere?  Maybe with the FAA I'm thinking, but how would a person get
such a list for my local area (Omaha Ne.)?
The reason I'm asking is that earlier this summer I (we, our club) was invited
by a very nice lady to fly any time we wanted to on the landing field in front
of their house - even gave me directions and everything....  only problem is...
I forgot what town in Iowa it was.  But after the "farmer" post thing, I got to
thinking, where I grew up in North Dakota (yes it's part of the us) alot of
farmers had private airstrips that were very nice and groomed (that was 25 years
ago) and that might be a direction to pursue, as any farmer who flys planes,
would probably understand kite flying, and possibly get involved.

What about it, am I being goofy or have I tapped upon something to save us
"middle of the country"er's from the soccer fields encroachment on flying space.

Just wondering, please answer me on this one (I'm serious this time)

Mikey

I'm not sure about grass strips being listed in the us. As a tower
controller in Canada, I know that private strips are not listed in any
official flight pubs. Your best bet to locate these sites would be to
contact flying clubs or the control tower in your area.I'd suggest looking
under "Aviation" or "Flying" in the yellow pages. You may be able to get
through to the tower by checking out the government listings in the white
pages (at least, that's how it is in the Great White North).
