Flexifoil power?

Flexifoil power?

Post by nick.. » Fri, 03 Mar 2000 04:00:00

Third attempt to post on rec.kites hope this works

I am hoping to buy my first power kite and have been recommended the
flexifoil 8' or 10' to start
But how powerful are these in singles
eg wil it pull enough for scudding, jumping or buggying and if so at
what wind speed

any other suggestions for a first timer (pref. dual line, long story)

Many thanks

Nick

I'd go for the 10. Know of a guy who has 2 tens stacked and generally
needs somebody else to hold him down!

My 8 and 6 stacked together generate enough pull (when its windy
enough!) to pull me about 20 feet, with each pass through the wind
window

If you do go for it let us know how it turns out. I 'm looking to
either add a new flexi to the stack or change to a Skytiger/Blade
equivalent.

Need to wait and see.

Before I commit and buy
does anybody know of clubs or groups, South Wales (M4 corridor- Bristol
to Swansea) that would be willing to let me try a flexi 10'

Nick,
If you would care to come along to Weston (18 miles from Bristol) beach
either on a Saturday or on a Sunday you will find many of the local flyers
*** out. I'm one of them and I've got a stack of 3x8' +3x10' + a very
rare 16' (on loan from Dom at UFO). You are more than welcome to come and
fly any of them or all of them - weather permitting.
Come on down, we'll be there!

Phil H.
Fly it like its paid for....!
