ALAS -
Zilker Festival was blown away by our Dear Mother Nature las weekend! The
local TV stations were in awe but still managed to squeeze some good
footage of us "die-hards" flying in 40+ mph wind! Yup - lots of folks
travelled far for this festival only to have it cancelled. Were we heart
broken? Did we cry? Heck no! We formed a mega fly, buggied, set up large
inflatables, hogged up the field and flew till we broke every kite in
sight. By the way - the "team" that flew all day was Troy Gunn, Kelly
Reed, Dennis Phillips, Eddie Zihlman, Jim Cox, Steven Ploof, Stephanie
Wise, and Kevin Kirkendal.
Indeed, the festival was postponed due to high winds and "freaking" cold
wind chills - hey, our Texan skins are accustomed to no less than 55
degrees! But fear not fellow flyers - its been rescheduled:
Sunday, March 15 (hope some of you guys can make it a second time!)
Same time: 11am-6pm
Same place: Zilker Park, Austin, Texas, USA, Earth
As Always - reply with your questions!
Steph!
