Ice Again or the Frozen Thingy comes again

Ice Again or the Frozen Thingy comes again

Finally, there's ICE again in the Swamp. Four to six inches of the
stuff. A couple of spots of "wet water" but with some careful scouting
and avoidance of that area, it was good.  I didn't have the ice buggy
together so I played on skis till my legs wouldn't edge the skis
anymore (and walking becomes a thrilling experience too) Considering
it's been a year since Ive touched skis I was reasonably happy with
and effective on the skis, I.E. I could make windward and leeward
progress at will and was managing to slide my turns nicely (thanks no
doubt to some really fine ice) Even had several runs that brought that
adrenal rush that comes on right around "OH WOW" and just before "OH
SHIT" It was a good day, on the ice, at the Bay.
Any of you flyers in the NW Ohio area, the Black Swamp Air Force is
holding their annual "Frozen Thingy" on January 19 & 20, at Maumee Bay
State Park, near Toledo, Ohio.  A Fun Fly/Traction party both on shore
and on Ice. Check out the Swamps site at www.bsaf.org for more info
and details

A Traction Party on land!, is that where they fight over who gets the
blanket to stay warm?  Hi Terry, have a good one.
