As a very inexperienced and unskilled kite flyer, I was wondering
if anyone can recommend some good, starter kites? What styles?
Materials? Price ranges? Where to buy? Any books available?
> Thanks, Scott
I have flown this kite with the (dacron) and I was impressed with
it's ability to hold the wind. I have also flown this kite
with the 80-lb spectra- and flew it in 4 mph wind (not as much work as
I figured it would be).
I would suggust you find a local kite shop and get one from them.
BTW, the kite is gaurenteed (sp?) for life -if anything breaks- it
will be free to fix it.
NOW, some other words of advice: Keep looking, and keep asking questions.
See if there is a local kite club around your area- go visit and chat with
them- and ask them about their kite.
My first kite, along with strings and Sky claws cost around $240.00.
I still fly this kite today- and am not bored with it yet- so make sure
you pick carefully!
Also, check the latest edition of the the FAQ: stunt kite review- there is
a little spat for newcommers to the sport/pastime.
Hope things work out well,
BTW- don't ask why I put the "( )" around the word dacron- I am a little
tired- and there is no way to edit this damn e-mail on my end-
One of my typical photographs of a
kite festival. ------------------
