Salomon Prolink 1S

Hello,

I am buying some new GS skis this year, under a pro deal direct from the
manufacturer. Unforteuntly I won't have a chance to demo them as you must buy
them in October and skiing doesn't start until early November. My currently
slalom skis are Salomon 9100 3S PR7 which I really enjoy. They are a bit long
as I am 5'10", 150lbs. Everyone tells me Prolink 1S's are awesome except they
are a bit heavy which can mess you up in slow, tight GS courses. But also that
you can use them in Super-G which would be a bonus.

Also anyone tried the new Kastle RS that has the WCup sidecut? Besides Prolinks
other choices are: Rossignol ex's Dualtec, Kastle RS, Dynastar G9 (97), Volkl
P21 (I think) RS.

Thanks.

ttyl

Also worth checking out, but not mentioned:

Elan GS Race.  Probably the softer one at your weight, they are much
improved (as _racing_ skis, anyhow).  Wood Core.

K2 4 / Olin Radius.  The Olin might be a bit lighter, but it doesn't have
the fancy damping system.  Again, if you're using them primarily for
racing, get the 198.  Wood core again.

The G9's are nice, the Rossi's are not.  You're probably right about the
prolinks, a bit stiff and heavy for your weight.

Haven't tried Kastle, but heard great things.  Again, a lighter, snappier
ski, more akin to G9.
