advice on new ski - head monster mi75 - Atomic R 11.20 - Salomon Scream 10 Pilot

I am looking at getting a new pair of ski, and I am hesitating between
3:
-Head monster mi75
-atomic R 11.20
-Salomon Scream 10 Pilot

I am looking for a good powder ski with good control on high slopes
for fast turning.  THose are all 2002-3 models, and maybe the
2001-2002 models would be less expensive and as good, so if someone
has an opinion or an advice, I would definitly appreciate it.

Head is using a completely new technology this year, so I don't think
previous years models would be an even substitute.  Don't know about the
others in this regard.

I've demoed both the Head Monster IC75 and the Atomic R 11.16 (not the
11.20)  The Atomic is the more demanding of the two. While the Monster
definitely needs to be skied aggresively and will punish you if you get
into the backseat, it's not as as "beefy" as the Atomic.  I thought it
was quicker edge to edge.  My friend who weighs half again as much as me
thought it washed out a bit in the turns, but I didn't have this
problem.

I liked the Monster and it would be in the top three or four contenders
if I could find anywhere nearby to demo it again.

I didn't take either ski into the powder since there wasn't any.  YMMV
Good Luck.

i ski  a 02 head monster in the 193  i am also 6'2 and 230 lbs  this ski is
very good at medium to high speed in powder crud and soup and anything soft, it
makes crud days  seem effortless  the steeper the better

I demo'd the Monster I75 yesterday and fell in love with it. I'm from the east
so can only report on edge hold (unbelievable), Icy bumps (incredible), junky
snow on trail edges (ate it up). Expert cruiser groomed (Stable and FAST, this
was the real surprise). I ski'd the 177. I'm 6'0, 175.

I'm going to go with it becuase of all of the above plus the wider waist for
when we get the occasional snow storm.

I know that this is not what you asked, but thought you might like the feedback
for thise rare western "icy" days

I demoed both the atomics R11 and the head monster I75 this week-end,
and the winner for me arethe atomics.   Both have incredible holding
on ice (was in the east this week-end), and they are both very fast
and stable.     However, I prefered the atomics as far as the control
and speed of my turn.   With them, I was able to turn a lot faster and
control my turn a lot better.   It may be because you are a slight bit
higher (about 2 inches) with the integrated bindings, but I really
felt a difference.  Saturday, I started with the Head, and I was very
happy with them.  After a couple of hours, I switched to the Atomics,
and I was simply amazed of my skiing!  I did the same on Sunday,
starting with the Head, and then switching to the Atomics.  I made
sure to take the same slope, and the Atomics fit my skiing a lot
better.

Thanks all for your feedback.  Since everybody was going for the Head,
I thought I would give you my point of view since I am gonna goo for
the Atomics.
