Just got back, from Hintertux.  The glacier had 4' new, plenty  of cover,
though some of the extreme terrain was inaccesable.

Though the was no snow cover at any low elevations, it was snowing at high
elevations everwhere, especially Switzerland.  It felt like snow on the way.

Snow conditions in the Austrian Alps

Post by Dave Lum » Wed, 09 Nov 1994 02:21:05

For the past five or six years I've skied in Austria during the week before
Christmas. With one exception the snow conditions have been very good
indeed. However, this year, particularly in England, the weather seems
unusually warm for the time of year and I'm wondering whether the same warm
weather has hit other parts of Europe.

If anyone has any information on the snow conditions in resorts such as
Kaprun, Hintertux or Neustift then I'd be very grateful for a short reply.
Also any general details on the waether in the Austrian alpine resorts and
comparisons with the `norm' fo the season would be welcome.

Thanks in advance for any replies
