Fischer Centrix sizing?

Post by nnn » Wed, 23 Feb 2005 10:09:57

Hi,

A couple of instructors told me they ordered Fischers one size down because
they run big compared to Salomons.  Has anyone else experienced that with
Fischer Centrix boots?

thanks, tom

I wear a size 46 in Salomons, but 46 in Centrix are so tight on my
feet, with painfully high arches that I cannot use them at all.  By the
way I have a new pair of size 46 Centrix S-9000 boots for sale.

I wear 45-1/3 Salomon and required the length of 46 in the Fischers.
You just better have big heels and a wide foot.

Sorry, I need a 49 or a 48 if they run bigger than Salomons.  I read an old
post in the archives that said someone had the same problem, and they kept
wearing them and the arch flattened out.  Another person removed the insole
and replaced it with something flatter.

The only boot I've been able to actually try on in a 49 is the Salomon
Carbon Pro, which seems to fit well lengthwise but it is very tight width
wise.  Plus, I don't want to pay that much for my first boot.  I can get the
Salomon Race 9's in a 49.  Do you know if they are any wider?

That's in dispute (I certainly would; compare them to the Hartjes).  I
think the discussion moved toward the idea that the strap, or whatever
that piece is in the mid or forefoot, gives the sense of a high arch.

Race 9 is slightly wider than Carbon Pro.
