Well, since you keep asking, SpektaDeck, snow is the solid form of H2O,
made up of the bonding of two hydrogen atoms with one oxygen atom. It is
in liquid form from 32 degrees F to 212 degrees F (0C, 100C,
respectively), above which temprature it turns to a gas, often called
steam.

Below 32 degrees F/0C, preferably at least 5 degrees below that
temperature, is where we snowboarders like it. It forms beautiful
crystals, usually formed in six-pointed/sided formats, and often
clumping together as they fall their many 100s, sometimes 1000s, of feet
from the clouds, and upon which our boards carry us at great speeds.
This works because pressure causes heat, and the pressure of our boards
(due to our weight), combined with the friction caused by our downward
progression (itself wholly due to the wonders of gravity), melts the
snow ever so slightly beneath our (preferably sintered) bases, causing
us to move forward and downward, to be able to make deep carves, and
launch off of big mounds and fly through the air for a time, until
gravity once again takes hold of us, and we land back in the
aforementioned snow, only to continue our exciting journey.

Soon, we will all be traveling quickly upon the frozen water crystals,
faces lit up with glee, eyes themselves watering from the speed and
impact of air upon them. We will rocket down mountains gracefully and
with a tremendous forward motion unfathomable to non-snowsliders, and
even uncomprehendable to many who choose to slide on two planks.

We await the falling of the beautiful snowflakes with relish and
anticipation of our many trips down the mountainside, over the giant
humps in the park, and spinning over the lip in the halfpipe, also made
from these snowflakes, tightly compressed by that great mechanical
beast, the Pipe Dragon, our fine friend.

The tempratures begin to fall. Low pressure systems begin their process
of condensing the water vapor in their roiling cloud masses. Unlike in
summertime, the water is crystallized, as discussed, and it gently but
thickly falls and blankets our mountains for us.

And thus, we ride sideways, we go fast, we go big, we go often.

Very soon, SpektaDeck, very soon. :-)
