Today on Whistler

Today on Whistler

I don't know where everyone was. The parking lots were full. There were no
lift lines (just ski up and get seated). The snow was choice from the Peak  to
the Valley. Even the locals were skiing. I guess with both Whistler and
Blackcomb opening so many runs including the high alpine the terrain just
sucks up the crowd. We have had no new snow since about 3:00 PM yesterday and
the weather today was sunny and crisp. The full moon was particularly welcome
over the hot tub last night with the clouds moving away to the east. There is
talk of more snow this week and with the cool temps the powder should be
accumulating. I have it from a "reliable local source" that the publicized
figures from Blackcomb's opening day were deflated due to a computer scanning
system malfunction. The reported 5,500 skiers clogging the open runs were
closer to 6500 and may have been as many as 7000! It's a ski season you guys.
