Anyone have any information, tips and tricks about the Paris France Marathon

Philip,
I did the Paris Marathon last year and it was a really great experience. The
only negative point was the way the start field was managed -- or maybe I should
say not managed. There were only two pre-defined start groups: the elite and the
"preferential" for which you had to show proof of a Marathon finish in sub 2:20
and 2:50, respectively. For males, that is. The rest of the field just lined up
on a first come first serve basis. For next year they will still control only
the elite and "preferential" group, but there should be markers for the rest of
the field in 15 min finish time intervals or some such. Of course, it is still
up to the runners to line up according to their ability, but I think that it
should be an improvement.

Just out of curiosity, how is the start field managed at the NYCM?
