Could someone please provide information on the marathon in St. George
Utah which takes place in October.  I am looking for the specific date,
the elevation, altitude, and number of starters.

Any info would be appreciated.

The St George Marathon is the first Saturday in October (No Sunday Races
in the Land of Mormon).  The weather can be pretty warm for a marathon but
if I remember, the race starts at 6:45 so as to be as cool as possible.
The starting elevation is approximately 5200 ft.  The end elevation is
approximately 2600 ft.  It always seemed to me that most of that elevation
drop was after the 20 mile mark.  The last 6.2 miles is so much downhill
that last year I ran it in 37 minutes which is faster than most of my
10k's.  It's all you can do to keep from falling down hill.  If you
haven't done alot of hill work, your quads will be screaming by the end.
