Anyone with allergies wear a mask while running?

I have allergies, and have read several references to wearing a face mask
during pollen season while exercising/working outside.

Are there any runners out there with allergies who wear masks?

Your input is appreciated.

I had a serious bout with asthma about 10 years ago. It was caused by pollen
(not running-related, although, of course running aggravated and possibly
caused the condition since I was outside sucking in all that pollen. There's a
different kind of asthma I think that's actually caused by running). I wore one
of those paper masks made by 3M for a year or two. They were uncomfortable (and
of course, I got a few weird looks). I got a perscription to Proventil,
probably the most common anti-pollen inhaler. Now I just take a shot of
Proventil before runs during the height of the pollen season. I haven't had a
problem since.
