The best way? I (master of the come-back) have found that, whether
beginning a running program or comming back to running, a very slow
and progressive program is both best and fastest. The key is to enjoy
running where you are. After years of trying to get back to where I
was I finaly realized that I rather be running than not running, and
I'd rather be happy where I am than injured.
Some things you may find helpful are: stay flexable; vary workouts;
run with a group once a week; take a day off; have an alternate
activity (swim, bike, weights); increase any training gradually and be
