Is a speed workout on a slower treadmill on an incline
really as effective as it would be on the flat on a faster
treadmill, as JD says? In his book Running Formula he
equates pace and incline as though the two were
interchangeable.

From the subject I thought this would be a question about drinking.

Oh well,  as far as you heart and lungs are concerned they are the same.  Your legs though will likely feel differently, an incline will affect the quads
more and the flats the hamstrings more.  Varriety would seem to be what is called for...I recommend Wild Turkey.
