allergy meds & running... ok?

I recently began taking Clarinex for some newly acquired seasonal
allergies, but my friend warned me that allergy medication quickens your
heart rate - should I be wary with running on allergy meds?  Is there
something else I can take with the same desired effects minus the heart
rate issue?  I'd be grateful for any possible info. on this

Yes, trash the Claritin, and get a dime of methamphetamine. You'll take
several minutes off your times.

My advice is to heed the warnings on the label if you are susceptible to
whatever it addresses. I know using decongestants can increase your
*** pressure slightly but if you don't have any cardiology issues you
probably shouldn't worry about taking the prescribed dosage.

I take medications for asthma and have previously gone through a long list
of allergy medications. The medications have not changed my running in any
way that I could ascertain, except with respect to keeping my breathing
apparatus well open. All else being okay, I'd say your friend was
overstating the case. If medically sound you should be helped by allergy
mitigation. I'm no doctor, but my doctor has never advised I change my
running habits. If I had listened to a great number of my well meaning
friends over my 30+ year running life, I'd have stopped running decades ago.
