Need good running store in San Jose?

Well I hope someone can recommend a good running store in San Jose. I bought
a show (Nike Air Max) on the recommendation of a salesman and now every time
I run I get a blister on the small toe of my right foot. I have tried it
on with a variety of socks and no socks etc.

Could someone recommend a good store with a good salesman who can analyze
my running. I don't know if I am an over/under pronator or not. I don't
mind paying the extra money if I am directed to the right shoe.  I am starting
to run for the first time in 6 years and don't want to get injured if I
can help it.

I don't plan to run much, just enough to get in shape and not to race or
anything like that. Not that I don't want to but I just want to get rid
of those love handles.

Thanks in  advancE

Try Ryan's Sport Shop in Santa Clara.  Gary and Steven Geottelmann have one of
the best selections in the area.  They won't sell you a shoe without having you
trying on several different pairs and having you run around the block.  In most
cases it won't be the most expensive shoe in its class either.  Gary has
multiple worldclass runners so he knows what he's talking about.  Steven
practically grew up in the store and knows all the shoes inside and out.  Their
phone number is 408.985-6886 and they are located just behind Santa Clara
University
