Go Adidas (BAA), kick some nike ass.

Adidas wants Nike marathon wall to come down

Adidas America, which has been the Boston Marathon's apparel and shoe
sponsor for the past eight years, is at odds with Nike. Evidently at the
NikeTown store which opened July 19th in Boston, there is a wall through
the center of the store which shows the Boston Marathon course and has
several of the marathon's famous landmarks depicted.

The Boston Athletic Association, which runs the marathon, is also unhappy
with Nike, according to Adidas. "The BAA has always worked to protect the
integrity of the marathon and its sponsors," says Adidas spokesman Chris
Persinger. "The BAA feels it may cross over the line into promoting the
actual event."

Naturally, Nike disagrees. According to a Nike spokesperson, the wall is
not an attempt to confuse customers about who sponsors the Boston
Marathon. Instead, the spokesperson said, the wall celebrates Nike's
running roots and its relationship with prior Boston Marathon winners such
as Alberto Salazar, Joan Samuelson, Ingrid Kristiansen and Uta Pippig.
