hi...i usually run around 5-6kms per day..recently though i've
increased it to 2 x 5km runs per day..(on the second run sprinting up
all the hills)..since i made this increase both my knees have been
feeling pretty sore...i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions..
i think my footwear is appropriate, however about half the distance is
on a hard surface..could this be the reason or would the soreness just
be because of the increased workload?? could the sprinting up hills
jar the knees?? any help appreciated..

Well, considering that you increased your volume by 100% and added some
intensity, I would bet that you are on the right track as to the problem.
Another one could be that the downhills are causing extra pain.

If I were to vote on what is happening, then I'd have to say that your
quads are tightening up from the increase.  Your quads need to be
worked/massaged to loosen them.

The sprinting uphill might not be a problem is you're not overstriding or
moving upand and down (vertically) with your entire body.
