Has anyone done this marathon? How is it? I am an experienced marathoner and I am looking for a good summer marathon since I did not get in Rock n Roll. Do they usually have a good turnout? How is the course? Any info would be appreciated!

I ran this two years ago. This first 20 mi of the course is great, the last
6 sucks. For the first 20 you run the GG Bridge, Marina District, Fishermans
Wharf/North Beach, Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, up the
Haight, down thru GG Park, along Ocean Blvd. And then the part that sucks -
a long out and back on Sunset that is very boring and disheartening as you
watch others way ahead of you on their way back. A real drag. The last mile
or so back thru the park is uphill but OK and the finish with a lap around
the track at Kezar is very cool. I am doing the RNR or I would consider
doing it again. Good luck.
