I can't believe it, there are still over 2 weeks to go until the marathon
I've been training for and I noticed today that a few of the mile markers
are painted already!

Cool.

Thanks,
Roger - My first marathon was a dress rehearsal for this one -

Roger,

I'm going to do the 10k leg in the marathon relay.  I hope the weather is good.
I have the leg that goes along the river, over the bridge and into the
District.  I did that two years ago.  I loved it.  Can't wait!  Good luck on
your marathon.

Mary

That is cool! I know the feeling. I live about 150m away from a km
marker of the Around The Bay 30k... I look at it all the time. It's fading
a bit, but come March, someone will repaint them all and I will get
all e***d again!

I know I am biased, but I think ATB 30k is an incredibly classic course
and one of the best races in the world. Come on up and do it in 2002,
Rog! You will have bragging rights as a runner of the oldest road
race in North America!

Good job. You should finish painting them in a week, tops!

I see what you mean.  Having the numbers painted before the race will make
it easier to place the water stops and Bands.  I think most of them are
located by particular mile markers instead of just an address.

I'm sure they have more of them painted that what I've seen, but I didn't
see '1' anywhere yet.  That mile marker will actually be on the interstate.

Thanks,
        Roger

And the URL is?

I just might run in it, depending on how things go around here.  I don't
normally make plans for a race too early, but I have.

Thanks,
Roger - can't pull a URL out of my hat -

Thanks David.

Hey, you would have really like running hills with our marathon training
group last night.

Since we are tapering, it was just 4 short hills with plenty of beer
afterwards.  Can't get much better than that.  Oh ya, with 1 or 2 mile cool
down / warm up, your pick.

Thanks,
Roger - All those long runs just make the tapering more fun -

It can always get better. What kind of beer did you have?

Cheers,
Rudiger

Ha ha.  They had 'dark' beer.  I said I thought someone added ashes to
normal beer, but it was still drinkable.  BTW there will be Coors next
Thursday.  ;-)

Cheers.

If it's Coors, it's yours!

Well, OK, that Extra Gold is not horrible.  As for the rest of it...  I can
see why the Europeans scoff at our beers.

And the Australians should. Maybe some of us in the U.S. could have an event
where the entry fee was a case of "good" beer smuggled in. If any
authority-types are reading, I'M JUST KIDDING! Sheesh, no sense of humor.
