Just a quick 'Woohoo!' to say I ran my first half marathon on Sunday.
Unfortunately I'd managed to wrench both inner thigh muscles (mental
note to do more stretching) whilst horse riding on Friday evening.
Wasn't too sore by Sunday morning, so thought I'd go ahead and give it
a go. Also forgot to take my watch, so wasn't able to check on my
pace. Ran the whole thing at a pretty easy pace without breaks.
Finished in 2:10 which I thought was okay, although I want to aim for
sub 2.00 in the next one.
Felt a bit stiff yesterday, but fine again today, and did some hill
traning on the treadmill in the gym. (Have decided I much prefer
running outdoors and considering jacking the gym membership in)
If I'm home this weekend, I'm planning on running a fairly local 15
mile race to see how that goes. Still a long way to go til the
marathon, but if it comes to the worst I'm already feeling fairly
confident that I'll be able to at least walk/run it :)
