Running shoe stores in NYC? Shoe recommendations?

Running shoe stores in NYC? Shoe recommendations?

Post by MJ » Sat, 14 Jul 2001 04:44:25

I'll be bumming around the city this weekend and I want to take some time to go
to a good shoe store to pick up a nice pair of running shoes.  The New Balance
990s I have are shot and never fit quite right anyway.

Also, suggestions on proper shoe are welcome.  I have a terrible time with
nagging right ankle pain after long runs and I am a pronator. I can never
remember if it is over or under but the wear pattern on my shoes is to the
outside.  I tend to run no more than 10-15 miles a week and no more than 3.5M
at one time.

Thanks,

Please email as well as post.

Mike

Super Runner's Shop. 2 locations.

Owner and staff are very experienced runners.

I live in the city and would highly recommend Urban Athletics. Located
near the World Trade Center. They have very knowledgeable staff, and
the real perk (at least as of 6 months ago) is that they'll let you
take the shoes home, run on them, and return them if you don't like
them.
