Has anyone done the Teterboro 5k?

I recall reading there's a 5k held at Teterboro airport, right on the
runways, on July 15 or so.  Anyone else done it and can tell me what
size field turns out for it and anything else of interest?

Teterboro is in Northern New Jersey, near the Meadlowlands sports area.
It's where the traffic helicopter for the NYC news radio station takes
off and lands, and lies a few miles West of midtown Manhattan.

TIA.

It is this years USATF-NJ Woman championship and a 700 PT NBGP race.
Expect a field of at between 500 and 800.

I've run it each year so far - this is the third (July 15th, 8:30 am).
Needless to say it is flat, flat, flat and there aren't a whole lot of
shade trees out on the runway. Last year it was unbearably hot, humid,
and sunny.

It starts on a side taxi way for a couple tenths (led by a "Pace Plane")
then hits the main runway for the bulk of the race (turns around at the
halfway point).  They reserve the right to shut the race down in case of
an emergency landing:) Course record is 15:33. Under the right weather
conditions I think this could easily be broken.

In 1998 there were 488 finishers and in 99 there were 679. Growing in
popularity very fast. Good goodie bag and door prizes.

You can register online at www.teterboroairport5k.org  The cost is $15
with a $2 discount to USATF-NJ members. Maybe I'll see you there. Good
Luck.

Todd.
