Ambergris Caye, Belize

My brother and I are going driving for for a week on Ambergris Caye, Belize.
Neither of us have done any diving in this area.  Can someone recommend a
dive shop?  Do any shops in this area have DIN tanks?  Any recommendations
would be appreciated.

There are many dive shops and sites in the area.

Use Amigos Del Mar for your short dives and night dives to the preserve.

I do not know any of the groups that take you to the outer sites.

The Blue hole is a long trip for a short dive and in my opinion was nothing
more than a notch on the belt.

Take a day trip to one of Mayan ruins it is well worth it.

Hire a private guide to take you fishing and show you some back area stuff.

Enjoy.

I have been to Ambergris Key twice, and both times I have stayed at Ramones. I
have been very happy with the dives and both times I have used Turiano Vasquez -
great guy

Good Luck

PS - Don't know about the DIN valves, might want to bring an adaptor

My friend Billie Leslie at Hustler Tours (north end of San Pedro) is a real fun
guy, and runs a very laid back dive.  His brothers (at the same location) offer
lots of other recreation, including fishing, sailing, mainland ruins excursions,
and even seaplane access to more remote dives and siteseeing.  Then, at the end
of the day, they'll go babe-trolling with you.
