Trip Report Crystal River and Devil's Den

After much too long, I finally got back in the water.  Glenn and I
did our first (and as it turns out only) dive in Devil's Den in
Willston Florida.  Devils Den is a cavern dive with a great opening.
You go thru a small opening then climb down stairs.  There is also
a large hole overhead.  The cavern is said to reach 50'+ tho we hit
32'. To hit the 50' mark you would need to crawl into nooks and crannies.
Not something I would want to do with a rookie diver like Glenn.
We spent 45 minutes down and had a great dive. The entrance fee is
$20 so go early to get your money's worth.  We were not interested
in more than one dive altho Ron, the manager, says most folks like to
do 2-3 dives while they are there.
We also found manatees in Crystal River.  Snorkelled only.  Rented
a boat from Crystal River Diving Lodge and they gave us great
directions.  The river is cold so bring your full wetsuit altho
you won't need a hood unless you are from the south.  :)
We found manatees in Three Sisters and behind Banana Island.
ERmial me if you'd liek more info.
