Looe Key is one of the best. You can go from the Bahia Honde State Park or one
of the Dive operations on Big Pine Key. I have  used Underseas Inc and was
happy with them.

Florida Keys, Where are best snorkel sites ?

Looe key is a great place...but to say none can compare is a bit of a
stretch...I amin the keys 3-4 days a week and have a house in
Islamorada..and I dive and snorkel up and down the chain...

for tourists comming down to play, ask yourself how far do you want to drive?
Islamorada is only 1 hour and 20 minutes south of MIami and has some
great spots and a night life...further Down is Marathon which is my
favorite..but between Islamorada and Key West the night life as most
would expect it is limited.....Marathon is about 2 1/2 hours from Miami
and key west is about another 1 1/2..

Don't get me wrong there a numerous great snorkel sites, but you must ask
yourself how far do you want to go and do you want more of a night life
than justa few bars and some resort tiki bars?

whatever you do the Keys are beautiful!

Noah

The Pennekamp Underwater Park offers the best diving and snorkeling in the
Keys, however, it is only accessible by boat since the reef is not directly
off the shore.  Jan

west and of all the keys the best night life by far is key west..

Florida Keys, Where are best snorkel sites ?

I highly recommend John Pennekamp Underwater State Park and  The Key
Largo Marine Sanctuary!  Due to the high profile c***or spur and groove
formations, you can have the best of both underwater worlds.

You can enjoy the larger fish that hang out under the ledges and mini
caverns and the beautiful caribbean fish which live in the shallower
areas, and on top of the c***formations.  The sand patches also house
marine life, but you have to look closely.

Some of my favorite spots for snorkeling and diving:

South Ledges - Elbow Reef area
Carysfort (south) - Carysfort Reef Area
  North North Dry Rocks

I should also mention, Dry Rocks Reef Area, which encompasses Christ of
the Abyss statue.  Beautiful elkhorn c***at this site.

I live at the ocean's edge of these reef areas, but due to being a parent
of two small children, my diving days seem to be less frequent.  If I can
be of further help, please let me know.
