NOTE: The poster asked about a TECH bc, not sport. These comments are in
reguards to that. My FIRST pick for a sport B.C. is the Zegal.
The Zegal Tech BCs seem like very Good BC, but I would compare it to the Dive
Rite & OMS. I wound up getting a Dive Rite TransPac (before I saw the Zegals) &
am still happy after I got a closer look at the two different types of Zeagle
One thing I have a preference for with the Dive Rite is a single waist belt.
Zegal (techs) have both a cummerbund and a waist belt. I like having one
adjustment at my waist.
Next - (I don't remember the Zegal config here, but something to look at)
Most BCs have a tendancy to come more straight down in the front like
suspenders, rather than down and to the side like a backpack. BCs tend to shift
around on your back with twins/triples etc... making you roll over on your back
unless you really have the shoulder straps tight. Straps which come down in
front tend to make you tighten up your straps across the mid chest too much when
you are wearing 2 or more tanks on your back. Tight across the chest really
interferes with breathing. You want to have the BC really tight way up high
across your shoulders. Loose chest straps with a heavy rig are miserable. The
tanks get to flopping around and want to roll you on your back.
Another BC you might want to look at is the OMS. I do not know how much shopping
around you have done, but if I had to get a new one, I would do some close
comparing between the OMS, the Zegal, & the Dive Rite. All are of high quality &
are in the same utility range.
Just a last note. I KNOW some dip is going to read this & post back something
like: "you idiot, who would wear triples". And other various flames. Please
don't bother, again, the person was asking about a "TECH" bc and I was not
talking about sport usage.
Your preferences will probably vary.

I can't comment on performance issues related to tech diving,
but I can say that this is the best BC I have ever tried, bar
none. Nothing fits me like my Zeagle; this BC feels like it
is glued to my body. It does have a small problem with air
trapping (it's sometimes difficult to vent the BC completely),
but other wise I think the thing is just about perfect.
Construction quality is top-rate, and the new Zeagle integrated
weight system ("ZipTouch") is really great.
If you do tech diving, the techies will probably tell you you're
wasting your money. If you do recreational diving and just
want a heavy-duty BC, I recommend the Zeagle products with no
