Two skydivers die after mid-air collision

TWO male skydivers have died after colliding mid-air in a parachuting
accident in Riverside, California.
Riverside County firefighters responded about 3.30pm local time after the
accident was reported at the Perris Valley Sky Diving school, KTTV
The men had collided then free-fallen a distance of about 60-90m.
"When firefighters arrived, the two patients were in traumatic full arrest
and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) was in progress. They were
pronounced dead at the scene at 4pm," said a Riverside County Fire
The accident follows the death of a Pennsylvania mayor almost a week ago
in a skydiving accident.
Carter Scott Shields, 45 - mayor of the Borough of Rutledge - died last
Friday in New Jersey after his primary chute failed to open and his
emergency chute, which opens automatically, never fully inflated.
