Most people are afraid of heights to some degree. Most are too macho
to admit it.You'll notice something about skydivers, many (if not most)
admit to being afraid of heights. We have a sport where fear is not
regarded as a weakness, consequently people tend to admit their phobias
(however mild). Similarly wuffos often regard skydivers as slightly
eccentric, and an admission of a fear, particularly of heights, will
either reinforce the eccentricity thing, or achieve the exact opposite
ie bring home the fact that skydivers are normal people. Either way no
one is likely to call someone who jumps out of 'planes a wuss! Hence
skydivers tend to tell everybody that they're afraid of heights even
though they may not be!

There must be a technical term for this; somethig like psuedoacrophobia.
Me personally; I suffer from arachnacuttophobia (tm) which is an irrational
fear of finding a spider clinging to my cuttaway handle while my Sabre
is in a high speed mal!

Be afraid!

Glenn.........

Skydive your Arse off!
this means to persue skydiving until your rear end falls off!

Skydive your Ass off! has something to do with horse-like animals
with long ears .......... you yanks sure have got it wrong!

I suffer from aussiethorasicarachnadescentiarapidaphobia (tm) which is to
very real fear of Austrailian bodies covered with spiders descending rapidly.

I thought Arachnophopbia was the fear of going low. 8^) (ie. the irrational
fear of going low and doing the 'dead spider')
