some of the older jumpers may remember this...

I've heard though the years of a harness system that actually failed several
time, years ago...ie. came apart..... don't remember the name of it, I think it
was a "Green" something or something "Green" but I may be wrong...anybody know
????

Still have mine, and it is for sale.  Comfort pads are intact,
besides....the harness only fails if you deploy the reserve, so just
pack neatly...

The system "failed" because the wearers cut off the comfort pads at the
shoulders, involving the double Ws, thus ruining the integrity of the harness.
It was called the Green Star (express) system.

greenstar, conventional gear, made somewhere in central ohio in the mid -
late 70's.

the risers tended to separate from the harness,

but

to my recollection all of the harnesses that "failed" had been modified by
people other than the manufacturer.

something about picking stitching from the harness while removing comfort
pads.

what did kevin gibson say a few months ago in his uspa column?
