Felipe,

What a sneaky thing to do! Jump with us on the w/e and then buy beer for
the midweek jumpers. It won't be forgotten let me assure you!
Congrads!

Andy,

You missed out on it because you have your head stuck up a canopy all
the time ;)

Doesn't look like we will be jumping this w/e, another woman on the way
:-)

Isn't this a _bit_ much?  I'd be sort of embarassed if people billed me as
the "Father of" anything.

Anyway, for the person who asked to have the AD licenses explained, here's
the quick n' dirty version.  The Atmosphere Dolphin (AD) tests were
developed by Olav Zipser as a way of establishing a certain level of
freeflying proficiency.  It involves the use of a "Space Ball" which falls
at a constant rate and therefore provides a good reference frame in
freefall.  There are four licenses, A through D, all developed by Zipser.
He holds AD A, B, and C licenses #1.  Last I heard, he had developed a D
test but couldn't pass it himself; perhaps this has since changed.  The "A"
test involves diving out after the ball (which is thrown by a ballmaster),
catching it, releasing it, and doing a transition around one of the 3 axes
(cartwheel, 360, or back/frontloop).  Then the jumper has to grab the ball
again, release it, and do a different transition.  The jumper gets the ball
and holds onto it.  This all has to be done by a certain altitude, which I
believe to be 6500 feet.  The B test is the same but involves more
transitions.  The C and D tests involve two balls.  Having passed the "A"
license test is a minimum requirement to participate in the Space Games, a
freefly competition organized by Zipser.  Hope that helps!

Soft openings,
Marty
