Kittinger never held a freefall record for his jump from 102,800 ft.
because it was a droguefall, not a freefall. The Russian Yevgeni Andreyev
has held the freefall distance record until Mssr. Baumgartner recently
broke it, along with two other records.
While the article you cite has some truth about Piantanida, it has
numerous factual errors about others as well as Nick.
