STEEL noodles for V-brakes?

STEEL noodles for V-brakes?

Anyone know if Shimano has *steel* replacement noodles for the V-brakes?
I've worn a hole in my alloy noodle (because it rubbed on the hanger
bracket) and I think a steel replacement would be more durable.  I've heard
that they're available but my LBS didn't know anything about it.  Any help
would be appreciated.

AFAIK know the 97 brakes come with steel noodles, so they should be readily
available as a standard spare.
