XT Lever bent. What should I do?

XT Lever bent. What should I do?

hi

i got an xt shifter/lever combo on my mtb. i took a spill today and i bent
the lever. now the right lever is bent upward. i could see some metal
stress marks on the lever itself.

the question is -- should i bend the lever back to the same position?
i think i probably could but it probably makes the metal more fatique.
i think shifting and braking from this lever are still fine. but it
just feels weird having a shorter reach to the right lever than to the
left lever (like i said before, the lever is bent upward). if i don't
bend the lever back, i probably have to rotate the pod downward more to
compensate the bend...

thanks a bunch!

Get the SRAM ESP 9.0 levers,  They look cooler are lighter and won't bend or
break in most falls due to the composite construction.  If you don't want to
do that see if Shimano will repair them for you.  You really shouldn't ride
around with it just because it could be dangerous.
