Thinking about purchasing a C'dale F700 and would appreciate thoughts
or words of wisdom any of you may have on this particular bike.

Thanks,

Thoughts on C'dale F700/DD2 Headshock

i have a 95 F700 with a DD2 and a killer-v frame.  I like it a
lot.  the only problem i've had so far is the front brakes
squeak WAY too much (and i've done all the standard things to
try and fix it, but i just got mail from someone who has new
ideas that i am going to try when i am back in california this
weekend -- thanks buck!).

the thing handles and tracks very well, but i found the stock
tires to be a little lacking since i do pretty technical trail
riding.  it seems the spec'ed irc piranha pro-k tires are more
of a compromise for light trail/street riding.  i put a
specialized more extreme on the back, which contributed to my
great praise for me specialized bike's abilities, and the 'dale
has been a much better climber.

i found the top tube to be a little long for me in the large
size, so i went with a medium, and i've had to get a longer
seat tube.

it's pretty light, but i think a new bar, stem, and brake
levers will help.  i tossed the force40 brake cams on the front
(which should not be on 96 models).

hope this helps, if you have more specific questions you could
always ask!
