Taller rear triangle - advantage?

Taller rear triangle - advantage?

One of my bicycles is a Giant CFR3, carbon fiber tubes bonded to aluminum.

This particular frame has a downward slope to the top tube (back to front),
making the rear triangle "taller" for the frame size. The top tube is 59cm
c2c, but the frame is otherwise a 57cm. due to the 2cm drop of the top tube.

Is there an advantage/disadvantage to designing a frame in this manner. The
only difference I have noticed is less seatpost showing.
