Trakstand/bike compatability problem

Trakstand/bike compatability problem

Post by Steve Hoar » Sun, 20 Dec 1998 04:00:00

A friend of mine just posted this to our local email network. I thought
maybe some of you might have come across this problem and have found a
solution. Thanks for any input

Steve

Hey anyone and everyone, I have a blackburn mag trakstand and a
Quintanaroo bike with 650 rims.  So the bike does not fit on the trak
stand.  The wheels don't reach the metal thing that spins the wheel.
Anybody have any ideas on how to make this work, or do I just have to buy
a new trak stand?  I've asked blackburn, but they haven't responded.
Help!!

Just for the record, if your friend is willng to wait 4-6 weeks for a
reply from Blackburn, he _might_ get one.  I find them (and that whole
*** conglomerate they're a part of with Bell and Rhode Gear and a couple
of others I've forgotten at the moment) to be less than forthcoming with
product information.  I basically just stopped buying their products.
They won't feel the pinch of course but at least it makes me feel better.

I don't personally own a Blackburn trainer, but the one i do have (a
Performance one) has an adjustable platform for the resistance unit.  It's
spring loaded and just pops up agains the wheel when I release the catch.
It fits 26" and 700C and I imagine it would fit 650C because there's
plenty of room left at 26".
