Mini Horses

Mini Horses

It is very difficult to lose these friends of many years.  Our
thirty year old pony is still going very strong and we hope to
have him with us for a few more years.
The sale of  mini horses at Oxford Mills was very exciting as
I was able to do all the navigating.  Do they have trail rides
where they need a navigator.  Have GPS will travel.
Does anyone have the story on the Orion line of Mini breeding?
Most of these 28 to 32 inch horses were of this line.  The one
six year old stallion which I would have bought went for $125.
He might have been a little to ambitious for me as he did try to
bite the auctioneere when he was turning into the sales.
I think the top brood mare of seven*** years was sold for
$450.
The surprise of the sale to me was a mini jenny with a jact
foal, I hope that is the correct term,  sold for $1200.  She was
bred back to the mini horse.
Most of the horses were pinto turning to grey as they aged.  I
have my heart set on a solid dark colour so we left the sale
early.
Some of the brood mares were said to have been purchased ten
years ago for $3500, but I guess the fashion is moving away from
Mini horses.
All comments on Mini horses gratefully acknoledged.
