I had one of those really busy weeks in which I got no riding done and sort of waved to the horses twice a day during chores. Now, however, we have a decent forecast for the weekend and I have three days without a work related chore (got my grading done) so my plan is to get in some good mare time over the next three days, as well as get some good chores done around the farm. I really want to mow off the pastures since the mares are not going to be grazing them more this year. And I need to get moving on doing something about painting my jumps! And I need to drag the ring, mow the yard, and once the fields are mowed I should drag the rough areas. If it gets dry enough I would love to reduce the manure pile and spread on the fields, but that is a two person job and I don't think I will have a helper.
Good thing I have time off to enjoy my property and the mares this weekend. And get my house cleaning done, too. ;-)
