My name is Adrian Bryce-Smith.

Like Kevin Crowley, I am a student at Trinity College Dublin. I have been
very lucky all my life, as my father is a horse trainer in Co. Meath in Ireland.I, therefore have been living with, working with and understanding horses for   all of my 18 years. I just missed out in getting into the only veterinary college in Ireland, and regret not being more determined at school. I have only started reading rec.equestrian recently, but now it is part of my daily diet! However,I am slightly disappointed that there is not more articles on horse racing. It`sa fantastic aspect of the enorm

ous world of horses.
I am 5`11`` and about 11.5 stones so I really have difficulty in riding racers. This is not a problem as I hunt and ride the steeplechasers. I have been working at home up until now and I would like some more work experience (asI`m sure many others would). I have been to the pony camps, but I didn`t like them as I was more inclined towards the Thoroughbreds.I would LOVE to go to America (Kentucky), and work on a stud, caring for the animals there.
I hope that there will be more people writing in to give rec.equestrian a "racing section"!

Hi! My name is Sonja Paetzel and I am from Ohio. I have
been riding for about 13-14 years and right now own 2 horses,
Kai and Feathers.  I got my first horse, Feathers, when I was
10. He is a quarter horse/appy cross although he looks 100%
like a QH.  The only Appy traits he has is that he can't groe
a forelock.  I learned to ride on Feathers and we started out
thru the 4-H program.  Feathers was very green when i got him
so we learned everything together. After I outgrew Feathers
I had several other horses. The horse after Feathers was
my junior jumper and that is how I got innto jumpers. I did
jumpers for several years and showed on the A circuit
during high school and college. After selling my jumper
I found a green little TB and brought him along in the
hunters. I should him extensively in the *** Amateur
hunter and equitation divisions while my trainer showed him
in the Pre-greens and 1st year greens. Itried to sell Kai
but ended up keeping him. He now lives at home with Feathers
and we have started doing dressage. I graduated from college
2.5 years ago with a Bachelors in Business and in Psycholgy.
After 2 years in the business world, I realized that I
needed to do something with animals (I was going
stir crazy in an office all day!). I am now hoping to be
accepted to vet school in the fall. On the side I run
a small boarding business-mostly for retired or young horses.
I mostly do it for fun and it does help pay for my other
2 guys. I also have 7 cats (Maggie, Chad, Howie, Todd,
Elliott, Carey, and Olympia).  They and the 2 horses
will all accompany me to vet school if I am accepted.
Sonja!
