And I thought Scandinavia was bad....

They showed quite a few of the Grand Prix rides last weekend - I was
very disappointed over Kyra Kyrklunds ride - and impressed with a
Spanish rider on an Andalusian - his normal gaits were not all that
great (but elastic and "through")- but I have never seen such "uphill"
one tempi changes - anyone know anything about him?

Swedish television showed 5 of the GPS rides - 3 Swedish and Werth,
Grunsveen.

Werth had a couple of misses, Grunsveen none, but Bonfire did not reach
as far forward with both hind feet (I think it was the right that was
trailing) - my SO, who is totally green about horses commented on the
horse being "uneven".

Saturday I taped 5 og 6 of the rides - have not watched them yet, but
they include Werth, Grunsveen and Gorldstern - will watch them tonight.

The rider's name is Ignacio Ramblas, and the horse is Evento, an
Andalusian stallion owned by the Yeguada Militar of Spain. Evento
has gotten some very good scores in International competition for
his collected movements, even 9's on piaffe and passage. But as you
noted, he doesn't have the flashy extensions of the warm***s, but
he is elastic and through.
