In San Mateo County, California, there is a beach called Poplar Beach
where horses are able to ride. We access the beach over blufftop property
now owned by the City of Half Moon Bay, purchased recently from the
County. The problem is that some residents (non-horse people) want to
prohibit people from riding on these trails and on the beach where we have
had access rights for decades. Please help either with sharing your
experience in retaining access rights where you ride, or if you live in
San Mateo County, please send me an e-mail that I can bring to the City
Council of Half Moon Bay to protect your access to this beach area.
Whether or not you currently ride on the beach in Half Moon Bay is not
important - it is the guarantee of your right to ride that is in jeopardy.
