Huge Backstage RAW News: JR Pissed, Drafts, Mysterio, More
06/23/2008 by Ryan Clark

I can confirm that Rey Mysterio was called over the weekend and told
he needed to be at RAW. Mysterio was in Mexico doing promotional work.

For those who missed RAW, Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, and Ric Flair
all returned.

Chris Jericho's entrance has been changed from 'Save Us' to 'Save Me'.

Prior to RAW, Cryme Tyme beat Deuce & Domino via pinfall in a dark
match.

The crowd was very hot at the AT&T Center was sold out (15,183 total).

The announcers had no idea who was being drafted and it took them all
by surprise. That came straight from Vince for sure and was kept
secret from them all. By the way, that commentary at the beginning was
hilarious with Mike Adamle saying absolutely nothing as they were
shooting all over him. You could hear the announcers having trouble
keeping from laughing.

The Melina injury appears to be legit. We hope to have more later
tonight or tomorrow.

Batista was nearly knocked out when him and Edge collided head-to-
head. He was obviously busted open the hardway.

Jim Ross was legitimately not happy with his move to SD! as evident by
his *** expressions. Michael Cole was more shocked than anything
and seemed to feel bad for good ole' J.R. You could also tell Mick was
really taken off guard by it as well.

As noted on WrestleZone Radio last Tuesday, it was either Triple H or
John Cena going to SD!. Triple H must have agreed to the move because
Cena had been the original plan. It looks as if 'Taker is headed to
RAW with the ending tonight so that keeps the two off the same brand
to avoid issues. That explains why Cena wasn't drafted. More on this
on WrestleZone Radio tomorrow.

Undertaker things WWE was founded as a Satanic cult; HHH thinks it was to
follow the Age Of Conan mythos.

I'll admitt the WWE actually came through with a decent show yesterday, and
they were able to
do it for the better part of three hours.

I actually thought that the draft spilt things up pretty well... I was
surprized that it was Triple H
that got drafted to Smackdown, but this could be a good thing. Time will
tell.

Vince killing himself off?? Will Flair be brought in next week to be Raw
GM as Vince can't?

-- That's assuming HHH actually makes the move to Smackdown.  In
previous years, it's been explained that general managers have made
trades subsequent to the draft.  Come to think of it, didn't HHH get
drafted to Smackdown a couple of years ago and get traded back to Raw
before stepping into a Smackdown ring?  As for Undertaker going back
to Raw, I can't see how WWE could work this out, from a storyline
perspective, in the immediate future.  He's been 'banished' from the
WWE and has unfinished business with Edge when he does inevitably
return.  A move to Raw at this point would be tough to explain.

2004: Hunter was drafted to SD, but was promptly traded back by then-
GM Kurt Angle for Booker T & the Dudleyz (Team 3D).

Undertaker, reportedly, will return to finish matters with Edge on
7/11 (the next wedding swerve show).

Jim Ross hasn't had *any* "*** expressions" in many years.
