Flashback Show VII (pre-HH3) pt. 7

[The camera cuts back to Josh Taylor and Kevin Diamond at the NAZ set.]

Kevin Diamond- "Mr. E***ment" Alex Extreme was RIGHT THERE when they
strapped his best friend Magnus Colby to the stretcher and took him away
from the ring for the last time. HE WITNESSED THE POWER OF ALEX MARTINEZ
FIRSTHAND!!! So why is he attempting to end his career just like Colby did?
Actually, what Extreme's trying to do is worse...considering that unlike
Colby, he's stepping into the Ultimate Death Match ALREADY HURT!!!

Josh Taylor- Alex Extreme doesn't know the meaning of quit. In fact, he's
using the injury he suffered at Martinez's hands last weekend as added
incentive. Not only will he be fighting for his own revenge, but vengeance
for his best friend, who lost his career at the hands of the monster.

Kevin Diamond- Before he jumps on that plane for Tokyo, Extreme should
realize one thing. Kamikaze is back, and Martinez healed.....but Colby will
never be able to step inside the ropes again. Is that a fate that the
self-proclaimed "Mr. E***ment" really wants? It is if he meets Martinez in
Tokyo. It'll be like he's stepping in there with Godzilla, but then again, I
don't think Godzilla is anywhere near as destructive as the New Alliance's
enforcer.

Josh Taylor- Alex Extreme will be out for revenge as he will try to defeat
Alex Martinez in his own match, the Ultimate Death Match.

Kevin Diamond- Some say that Extreme is crazy for trying to do this, and
Extreme's probably one of them. A healthy man the same size as Martinez
couldn't beat him, what chance does Pipsqueak X have?

Josh Taylor- Hey, Extreme's quickness and tenacity might be just what's
needed to take down the seven foot monster.

Kevin Diamond- All the speed and determination in the world won't help him
when Martinez Firebombs him down onto a stack of bricks. Hopefully Extreme
will realize this before it's too late, and he finds himself unable to walk,
just like his best friend.

Josh Taylor- It's now time to shift gears to the tag team division in UEW.
Since the breakup of The Outlaws, a whole generation of new teams have
emerged to try to fill the vacated spot at the top of the mountain.

Kevin Diamond- It should be obvious who will possess the next tag team
dy*** in UEW....the reigning UEW Ultimate and Television tag team
champions, The Explosion.

Josh Taylor- Fire and Nitro are the first ever team in UEW to hold both sets
of titles. However, the way in which they acquired both sets of titles
leaves some doubt as to whether they will be the team who leads the greatest
tag team division in wrestling into 1999.

Kevin Diamond- What are you saying? They beat both teams fair and square!

Josh Taylor- They won the Television tag team titles back on Halloween night
when they STOLE the shot right out from under Partners In Crime. Then, they
won the Ultimate tag team titles in a match where The Outlaws split up and
defeated each other!

Kevin Diamond- So what? They're always in the right place at the right time.
That's the skill needed to lead the UEW tag team division into 1999.

Josh Taylor- Being in the right place at the right time is the key to
winning the annual HOLIDAY HORROR Heaven & Hell match.

Kevin Diamond- It's two-two-two matches in one!

Josh Taylor- The UEW Television championships are decided on a 20 foot
scaffold. The Ultimate tag team titles are decided in the ring below. The
teams must choose which sets of titles they will go for. If they stay in the
ring and fight for the Ultimates, they'll have a much rougher time than if
they climbed the scaffold to go for the TV titles.

Kevin Diamond- A lot of the strategy is trying to figure what your opponents
would do, and doing the opposite. Last year, with The Explosion, their
opponents were Havok, The Lethal Leaders, and The Suicidal
Stallions...pre***ly high-flying teams. So The Explosion realized that
since everyone expected those teams to go in the air for the TV titles, they
would stay on the mat and go for the Ultimates, while The Explosion would
have a clear path for the TV's. Makes sense, right?

Josh Taylor- Well, it wasn't as simple as that. Anyway, let's show you what
happened during that classic match...and show you exactly how dangerous a
match like this can be, especially with the volatile personalities involved.
Take a look.

(camera switches to show Stan Carter and Johnny Diamond sitting at the
announcers table near ringside)

Stan Carter: We're back fans!! Once again, I'm Stan Carter along with
Johnny Diamond...

Johnny Diamond: The good looking Diamond, and the smarter one,
too.

Carter: ...and we are here for the second chapter of the tag
team wars of the night!! In our first match tonight at Holiday Horror,
Johnny and I were calling the action of the 5 team tag team Battle
Royale, where the winner would become the number 1 contenders for the
Ultimate tag team titles.

Diamond: I'll tell you what, old man, On my hotel room TV, I
heard an announcement that Hell had frozen over. It didn't surprise me
all that much. On my way from the Hotel room to the Astrodome, a pig
flew past the windshield of my rent-a-car. That didn't really surprise
me either. This afternoon, seeing The Supreme Destruction winning the
battle royale to become the top contenders to the Ultimate tag titles,
now THAT surprised the hell out of me.

Carter: Since then, it has been a night of unbelievable and
unforgettable action BUT THE BEST IS STILL TO COME!! Right now, we're
ready for Heaven and Hell, where in one big match, Havok will be
defending their Ultimate Tag Team titles against THREE OTHER TEAMS, and
at the same time, the Suicidal Stallions' TV tag team titles will be on
the line as well!! Give us the details, Johnny!!

Diamond: Well, it's almost like two matches going on at once,
but both involving the same participants. Right now, we see the referee
holding two clamps at the end of wires that extend above the Scaffold.
When the Stallions enter the ring, they will attach those titles to the
cable and they will be raised high above, where the only way to get them
is to climb the Scaffold and remove them from the Cable.

Carter: Whichever team succeeds in doing so will walk away as UEW TV
Tag team champions!!

Diamond: I was just getting to that, and don't cut me off again,
old man. Anyway, the Ultimate tag titles will be on the line in a one
fall match IN the ring, as whichever team gets a pin or a submission
over any of the three other teams, will become the Ultimate tag team
champions.

Carter: So, based on that, for all intents and purposes, both
the Ultimate and the TV tag titles are vacant as of now, because
although Havok and the Stallions are the champions of record, they have
no Champions' advantage going into this match. Both sets of belts are
truly up for grabs, tonight!!

Diamond: A good point by Stan Carter. I guess this IS a night of
firsts.

Carter: The referee has the cables! Rick "the Ring" Announcer is
at ringside with the mic! We are about ready to begin!!

Announcer: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT IS NOW TIME...FOR
HHHHEEEAAAAAVVVVVEEEENNNNN  AAANNNNNDDDDD HHHEEELLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

(The crowd gives off hoarse pop)

Carter: Most of the stadium is on their feet, but it would seem
they've screamed themselves out throughout the night. A tribute to the
great action that is the UEW!!

Diamond: You should have heard the Texicans during the
intermission on the snack lines! I think we broke the record tonight for
most Chili and dip sold within one event.

Carter: A lot of interesting match-ups will come out of this
one, Johnny.

Diamond: Well, you got Havok against Lethal, two teams that have
been feuding for who knows how long? We all know Havok doesn't like the
Stallions, The Explosion doesn't like The Leaders and the Stallions
don't like the Explosion, The Explosion don't like the Stallions and the
Leaders don't like anyone. In Havok against the Stallions, you got a New
Foundation vs New Alliance match-up, and in total, you have two seasoned
veteran teams and two young hot prospect teams all going for the gold.

Carter: Let's get back to the ring for Rick "the Ring" Announcer's
official announcement!!

("Comedown" by Bush begins to play)

Diamond: No surprise, another big match for the tag ranks and
the Lethal Leaders are right in the middle of it all!!

Announcer: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, FIRST, MAKING THEIR WAY DOWN
THE AISLE, HERE ARE THE FORMER _FOUR_ TIME ULTIMATE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS,
HERE ARE HEATSTROKE AND CANCER, HERE ARE THE LLEEEEEETTTHHHAAALLL
LLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDEEEEERRRRRRSSSSS!!!!!!

Diamond: Rick "the Ring" Announcer really took THAT last note to
the highest extent, huh?

Carter: Heatstroke and Cancer step out through the curtain and
start making their way down the long aisle, which stretches all the way
to the visitor's bullpen across the seat-covered playing field!!
Heatstroke raises his arms up towards the crowd as Cancer follows from
behind!! Cancer looks more focused then I've ever seen him.

Diamond: The Leaders are VERY confident that they're going to
become 5-time Ultimate champions tonight. It's hard to argue the point
with them, they are undefeated in Multiple team matches and they've been
in quite a number of them. You can see there's no butterflies in THEIR
stomachs going into THIS one.

Carter: Heatstroke steps through the ropes as Cancer steps over
the top rope! The two walk across the ring and wait for their opponents
in the corner!!

("Running With the Devil" by Van Halen begins to play)

Announcer: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, TO BE LED TOWARDS THE RING BY
THEIR MANAGER, LADY LUCIFER, HERE IS FIRE AND NITRO, THEY ARE THE
EEEXXXXXXXXPPPPPLLLOOOOOSSSSSIIIOOONNN!!!

Carter: Fire steps through the curtain and raises his arms in
the air! Now, Nitro and Lady Lucifer step through the curtains! The
three walk to the ring. Lady Lucifer stands at ringside in the corner
opposite Lethal as The Explosion both slide under the bottom rope,
return to their feet and point towards the Leaders! Heatstroke motions
the Explosion to come to him, but the referee shouts a verbal towards
both teams.

Diamond: Both Fire and Nitro are over 6'5, which easily makes them
the biggest team in this match, yet neither individually matches the
height of Cancer, who's 6'8.

Carter: Both the Lethal Leaders and the Explosion glare towards
one another in opposite corners as we await the TV tag team champions.

("More Human than Human" by White Zombie plays)

Announcer: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, TO BE LED TOWARDS THE RING BY
THEIR MANAGER, MR. Z, HERE ARE THE UEW TELEVISION CHAMPIONS, CRAZY HORSE
AND THE MAD BRONCO, THEY ARE THE SSSUUUIIICCCIIDDAALLLL
SSTTAALLLIIIOOONNNNSSSSS!!!!!!

Carter: Mr. Z is the first out as he points to the curtain! The
Stallions now come out and follow Z to the ring!!

Diamond: The TV belts are around their waists, but not for too
much longer!!

Carter: As Z waits outside the ring, The Stallions enter the
ring and step towards the center of the ring, where the referee waits,
holding both cables, as from opposite corners, The Lethal Leaders and
the Explosion look on! Crazy Horse and Mad Bronco both remove the belts
from their waists and fasten them, one to each cable!! They look up as
the referee lets go of the cables!!

Diamond: And there go the belts for a ride, 31 feet up!!

Carter: That's correct, as TV tag team titles now hang exactly 6
feet above the Scaffold, which is 25 feet above this ring! The only way
to get up there is to climb the two poles on either side of the ring.

Diamond: And once up there, that Scaffold is hardly stable, as
we saw earlier during the Scaffold match.

Carter: It is now time to bring in our final participants into
this match...the Ultimate tag team champions!!

("Roots Radical" by Rancid begins to play)

Announcer: AND LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, HERE ARE THE THREE TIME UEW
ULTIMATE
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, "FLYBOY" GUY STONE AND MR. PINK, THEY ARE
HHHHAAAAVVVVVOOOOKKKKKKKK!!!!!!

Carter: Guy Stone and Mr. Pink walk up the aisle side by side to
this loudly cheering crowd! Guy Stone holds his belt up in the air with
his left arm, as Mr. Pink has his over his right shoulder. They walk up
to the ring and look in. Do they look ready or do they look ready,
Johnny?

Diamond: They BETTER be ready, they're the ones with everything
to lose tonight. Pink's already talking trash as they walk up the
aisle!!

Carter: Heatstroke and Cancer have just stepped through the
ropes and to the floor on the opposite side of the ring! As Stone and
Pink place their titles on the timekeeper's table, Heatstroke and Cancer
are each making their way around the ringside area from opposite sides!!

Diamond: HEATSTROKE TACKLES MR. PINK AS CANCER RUNS INTO STONE
WITH A FOREARM!!! The action has started on the floor, as the action
beings in the ring as well!!

Carter: Fire and Mad Bronco start to exchange blows as Crazy
Horse locks up with Nitro! The referee calls for the bell and jumps out
of the way!! Outside the ring, Heatstroke and Pink continue to exchange
blows! Heatstroke attempts to whip Pink across the ring...reversed by
Pink AND HEATSTROKE HITS THE METAL RAILING!!

Diamond: Now, Pink helps out his partner, who was getting
hammered against the metal post by the larger and more powerful Cancer!
Pink runs to the steps, catapults himself off and hits Cancer with a
clothesline that staggers the big man!!

Carter: In the ring, Nitro puts Crazy Horse in a headlock!!
Crazy Horse throws him off! Nitro hits the ropes and rebounds off AND IS
CAUGHT FACEFIRST WITH A STANDING DROPKICK!! Nitro falls back, only
hitting the ropes kept him from leaving his feet!

Diamond: Look at the power of Mad Bronco! He got underneath the
lock-up with Fire and lifts Fire in the air...AND SLAMS HIM!!!! Bronco
holds his arms out as this crowd popped for that!!

Carter: Outside the ring, Havok with a doubleteam, whip Cancer
across the ringside area and send him crashing into the ringsteps!!

Diamond: Havok, as a team are probably the best out there, and
they're going to need to watch each others' backs, because they're the
team to beat!!

Carter: In the ring, Crazy Horse attempts to send Nitro into the
ropes! Reversal by Nitro! Crazy Horse rebounds off the ropes AND RUNS
INTO A BIG BOOT BY NITRO!!! Nitro bends over to pick Horse off the
mat...MAD BRONCO ROLLS NITRO UP FROM BEHIND, WE HAVE OUR FIRST PIN
ATTEMPT!!

Fire is right there to break it up with a kick to Bronco's head!!

Diamond: But Crazy Horse is in position as he hits Fire right in
the face with a spin wheel kick that knocks him right out of the ring!!

Carter: As Pink and Stone slam Cancer face first into the steel
steps! Heatstroke runs over to save his partner...RIGHT INTO A SUPERKICK
BY GUY STONE!!! Stone stands over the floored Heatstroke and points at
his crotch as this crowd cheers him on!!

Diamond: Mad Bronco's on the apron looking down at Fire, who's
trying to re-gain his senses! The huge Mad Bronco jumps off the apron
with a shoulder tackle..AND MISSES!!!! Mad Bronco crashes and burns into
the steel railing!!

Carter: Heatstroke is on all fours. Both members of Havok lean
down and grab Heatstroke by the hair in order to lift him back to his
feet! Cancer, with a desperation move, picks up the steps AND SLAMS THEM
ACROSS THE BACK OF MR. PINK!!!

Diamond: Bronco is walking up the aisle, trying to shake off the
shot, but Fire is on his tail! FIRE THROWS MAD BRONCO INTO ANOTHER SIDE
OF THE METAL RAILING!! Stone turns towards Cancer as Heatstroke rolls
out of the way!!

Carter: In the ring, Nitro picks Crazy Horse up and slams him
down on the mat! A cover and a count!!

Crazy Horse kicks out as Mr. Z almost has a heart attack at ringside!!

Diamond: Heatstroke just slid under the bottom rope and he nails
Nitro with a shot to the back of the head! Meanwhile, Mad Bronco and
Fire are now exchanging blows up the aisle! They're heading back to the
locker rooms!!! They're actually leaving the match as they've started a
fight of their own as Fire tackles Mad Bronco and drives him through the
curtain!!

Carter: Crazy Horse is back on his feet, as now both he and
Heatstroke are putting the boots to Nitro, who manages to crawl under
the bottom rope and to the floor!!

Diamond: Man o man, the action's all over the place here, and
the ref is just letting them go. It looks like Mr. Pink is busted open a
he and Cancer start hammering each other with right hands!

Carter: As Cancer and Mr. Pink continue to exchange blows, Guy
Stone starts to climb one of the Scaffold poles!! Nitro begins to climb
after him as Cancer rakes Pink in the eyes and throws him under the
bottom rope.

Diamond: Nitro is*** on the Scaffold, holding onto Stone's
leg, which keeps him from climbing! Crazy Horse is now climbing to the
top turnbuckle as Cancer follows Pink into the ring.

Carter: CRAZY HORSE LEAPS OFF THE TOP TURNBUCKLE TO THE SCAFFOLD
POLE AND GRABS NITRO BY THE NECK!! HE PULLS HIM OFF!! That allows Stone
to continue to climb to the top.

Diamond: That may have been a mistake! Crazy Horse now realizes
it and starts to climb up.

Carter: Nitro has a chair! HE SLAMS IT ACROSS THE BACK OF CRAZY
HORSE AS HE WAS CLIMBING!! That allowed Stone to make his way up the
pole and to the Scaffold above the ring!!

Diamond: Cancer attempts to clothesline Mr. Pink, but Pink ducks
it! Pink runs across the ring, rebounds off the ropes and hits Cancer
with a High cross bodypress...CAUGHT BY CANCER!!!

Carter: Cancer runs to the center of the ring AND HITS A
POWERSLAM!! Cancer hooks the leg as the referee counts!!

gotta love the UEW flashback action. The Heaven and Hell match continues in
part 8
