Wasn't the Kramer character always supposed to racist anyway?

Wasn't the Kramer character always supposed to racist anyway?

Everyone's acting so shocked over Michael Richards' outburst the other day.
And yeah, it was horrible, but frankly, I always kind of assumed that the
Kramer character was supposed to be a racist.  I mean, let's look at the
facts:

- There was an episode where Kramer burned a Puerto Rican flag
- Was meeting the parents of a black girl he was dating, and decided he
needed to be well-tanned for it.
- That episode where he was shacking up with Elaine's roommate and Elaine
came home and found them dancing like savages to tribal music always had
racist undertones, IMO
- The episode where George thought the guy in his office looked like
Sugar Ray Leonard *
- Went to a b-ball game and threw pretzels at Reggie Miller **

* Yeah, this was George, but Kramer probably ghost-wrote the episode.
** Sure he went to a strip club with Miller and Spike Lee after, but even
racists like ***ies.

Don't forget the cigar store Indian statue.
